 OnlineHost: Welcome!!!
OnlineHost: Copyright 1999 America Online, Inc.

 :
 EAMooDBluz: Thank you very much
EAMooDBluz: the album is called strange times and it's released              9/17.
Question: This is for John...I just love Sooner or Later, Did you write the music
Question: or the lyrics alone, or did you and Justin each contribute to both. - Singformoi
EAMooDBluz: John: When Justin and I write, we write together,              everything.
EAMooDBluz: That's the fun of it. It's a journey, the music &              lyrics.
EAMooDBluz: It goes back and forth between us.
Question: Question for either-why the 8 year gap between albums              with new studio
 Question: material? - Jasminsalt
EAMooDBluz: Well I think we had lots of different projects the              last 8 years
EAMooDBluz: box sets, tours, and a new show at Live at Red Rocks
EAMooDBluz: where we worked with a symphony orchestra with PBS
EAMooDBluz: Everyone seemed to like it and we got distracted by              it all.
EAMooDBluz: We've just finished recording this last
 EAMooDBluz: Album in Italy.
EAMooDBluz: It was great. Busy, but great
EAMooDBluz: John: It felt like the right time, as well, to              release this album
EAMooDBluz: I think you're going to love it.
OnlineHost: Any New Years Eve Plans?
EAMooDBluz: We may have, but we haven't decided yet.
EAMooDBluz: We'd love to do a concert, though
Question: Do you notice a difference in fans today compared to              when you started? -
 EAMooDBluz: Better teeth
 EAMooDBluz: LOL
EAMooDBluz: I don't know, everybody changes as people. And our              audience
EAMooDBluz: seems to be the same, ages 17 - 40
EAMooDBluz: We've been very luck that our audience has been very              consistent
EAMooDBluz: The difference today is the sound, aspect. In the              70's it was about
 EAMooDBluz: the musical energy
EAMooDBluz: Now it's about the sophisticated musical sound to it,              a journey...
Question: What is Knight in White Satin, really about? -
EAMooDBluz: Well, I wish I knew...
EAMooDBluz: I wrote it when I was 19, after a love affair
EAMooDBluz: And a girl had actually given me some white satin              sheets
EAMooDBluz: They were lovely, not very practical though, but it              inspired me
EAMooDBluz: There's another line...years later I've analyzed it
EAMooDBluz: It's very difficult to explain, because about very              complex personal things
EAMooDBluz: going on within me at the time.
OnlineHost: Are there any wonderful love letters written to women,              never sent?
 EAMooDBluz: Wonderful, there are. Yes.
EAMooDBluz: Writing things down is such a good way to analyze              things after the fact.
EAMooDBluz: And songwriting helped me do all of that.
OnlineHost: Justin, have you read any more books by Italo              Calvino? - katlady
EAMooDBluz: I don't know, but the katlady knows better than I,              I've forgotten
EAMooDBluz: I'm not reading any at the moment?
Question: Which music groups did you look up to as teenagers? -              SLandBalla
EAMooDBluz: They have to be tall, cause we're both 6'1" LOL
EAMooDBluz: Me personally (JOHN) it was Gene Vincent, Buddy              Holly, Jerry Lee Lewis
EAMooDBluz: But Buddy Holly, really had an effect on me
EAMooDBluz: I went to Lubbock, TX to see his Museum, it was              great, a nice vibe.
EAMooDBluz: Justin: Yeah, Buddy was a big hero, along with Elvis
EAMooDBluz: We toured with the Archies once...
Question: Is there any truth to the RUMOR that you will be              appearing on Regis &
Question: Kathie Lee on Friday? Moody Carol
EAMooDBluz: I don't think so. No. We are on Good Morning America
EAMooDBluz: Monday, maybe that's what you mean?
EAMooDBluz: And we'll be airing "English Sunset" for the first              time
Question: Do ideas for songs flow more readily now, with a              wealth of experiences
Question: but having written hundreds already or was it              easier as an idealistic 19 year
Question: old (with a broken heart!!) - JulesUK
EAMooDBluz: You know, it's wonderful that there's a naïveté about              youth, and all artists
EAMooDBluz: that can be very appealing.
EAMooDBluz: And you hope it develops into wisdom
EAMooDBluz: But as long as you write down your experiences and              events you never
 EAMooDBluz: stop telling stories
 EAMooDBluz: Youth has no boundaries
EAMooDBluz: You have to have no limitations in creating
EAMooDBluz: music. When you're younger, you have to learn to use              you
 EAMooDBluz: awareness, emotions and truth.
Question: The new song English Sunset has a techno sound to it.              Do you foresee
Question: that your future music will be going in more that              direction? - TimeDelta
EAMooDBluz: English Sunset? Our music covers all kinds of styles
EAMooDBluz: It was interesting because we found a techno groove              and found other
EAMooDBluz: styles to make it more interesting. It suited it              fine.
EAMooDBluz: We will explore that more and more, believe me.
Question: Have computers changed the way you write? - Web23
 EAMooDBluz: Yes
EAMooDBluz: They've changed the way you put the song together
EAMooDBluz: You have to have inspiration first, the computer              let's you capture a
 EAMooDBluz: feeling right away, forever.
EAMooDBluz: Mentally, you have to remember it otherwise.
Question: what do you do to relax?
EAMooDBluz: I like to keep fit, I'd go to the gym.
EAMooDBluz: Mostly I've been, in France where I live, in the              mountains I've started
EAMooDBluz: walking and climbing the foothills.
 EAMooDBluz: It
EAMooDBluz: has opened a whole new world to me. the country side,              etc.
Question: What current artists do either of you admire and              enjoy? - Chris9723
EAMooDBluz: Lots of people. It's hard to pick one or two. there's              a lot of good
EAMooDBluz: Brit Pop stuff, they look like us--coolashaker
EAMooDBluz: I like the verve too
Question: For the women who are interested in this sort of              thing (not me, of
Question: course) - Justin: are you planning to wear the              leather pants on tour again this
 Question: summer? - prospecter
 EAMooDBluz: LOL
EAMooDBluz: that's a difficult one... Is it good or bad?
EAMooDBluz: Yes, if it gets cold....LOL
EAMooDBluz: Leather doesn't shrink, you know
 EAMooDBluz: But they're very convenient
Question: How do you feel about the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame              and their failure
Question: to recognize the contributions of the Moody Blues? -              Jdinnc
EAMooDBluz: I think the rock & roll hall of fame is a great              thing.
EAMooDBluz: But we have to do our thing, and not worry about              anything else
EAMooDBluz: We make our music. There's nothing more important              than being true to your work.
Question: Why does it take so long for a Moody Album to come              out? - noteful
EAMooDBluz: It was along time for this one, yes. We've been busy              performing with
EAMooDBluz: many different orchestras, also the pop set, an              anthology album
EAMooDBluz: so time seems to go quickly without making an album.
EAMooDBluz: But we wanted it to be exactly right. And to be              released at the right time.
Question: Would you explain the album cover art work? - tcsddg
 EAMooDBluz: I wish we could
EAMooDBluz: It's a beautiful photo that appealed to us.
EAMooDBluz: That's it really, but in the end the title itself              stood out more than any image
EAMooDBluz: The photo just compliments the title, really.
Question: Waylon Jennings once said he hated the song Luckenbach Texas even
Question: though it became a huge hit for him, are there any              hit songs by Moody Blues
Question: that you really don't like? - HOG1120
 EAMooDBluz: No
EAMooDBluz: It was along question with a short answer.
EAMooDBluz: But I'm not surprised Waylon didn't like it...funny              title and all
EAMooDBluz: We don't dislike Waylon though, he's a Buddy Holly              guy
Question: What inspired In your Wildest Dreams? It's my all              time favorite! - EAMC
 Question: Mysty
EAMooDBluz: really, it's a simple inspiration of looking back to              the first
EAMooDBluz: person you really loved. At the time, I never thought              about
EAMooDBluz: it. It was just another track. but when it came out,              a lot of people
EAMooDBluz: found themselves thinking about their first love.
 EAMooDBluz: People really identified.
Question: Justin has said Some songs write themselves. Any song              write itself on
 Question: Strange Times? - Howpat97
EAMooDBluz: The song was "All that is real is you" it took five              minutes.
OnlineHost: Thank you for joining us
 EAMooDBluz: Bye everyone!
OnlineHost: EAMC Host has left the room.
